Who is Ibrahim Selman?

Welcome to my website. My name is Ibrahim Selman.

I am a writer, filmmaker, actor, and thinker. Born in Kurdistan — a region historically divided by colonial borders — and since 4-3-1981 based in Amsterdam, I have spent decades moving between art, philosophy, and social engagement. My work includes novels, poetry, theatre, essay films, feature films, short and long documentaries, and poetry films. Over the years, my films have received several national and international awards.

This new website is still under construction. I created it in connection with my latest project: iBografi – One Man Show on the Bike, a solo essay film about life, memory, and the freedom to keep asking questions. Gradually, I will add my books, films, poetry, and other projects here. Until then, you can find information about me through search engines — or feel free to reach out directly.
